Welcome to the Occidental Arts & Ecology Center's application management system through Submittable.com. Thank you for your interest in collaborating with us to bring ecological literacy to your school community through a thriving living learnscape.

About the Trainings

As part of our School Garden Program, our residential trainings at the Occidental Arts & Ecology Center's 80-acre site in West Sonoma County are for TEAMS of teachers, garden coordinators, administrators and core volunteers who have a relationship with a specific school/district. We believe that making change in communities is more effective when teams of committed individuals organize together strategically.

We do not accept applications from individuals, though one individual from each school is responsible for applying for each team.

Cost

Thanks to generous grant support that we receive, the inclusive program fee is $800 per participant. This covers a year of support and training from OAEC staff, curricular materials, instruction & staff costs, onsite accommodations and seasonal, locally sourced, organic vegetarian meals during the training. A $200 deposit per team member is due upon acceptance to hold your team’s space.

This year-long program is already deeply discounted, and we cannot offer additional scholarships.  Thank you for understanding the value of this opportunity.  Together, we are working towards building durable funding streams into this work to ensure ecoliteracy programming in all schools!
